Just the very thing I've been needing to hear.
and with this seasonal change and new exposures along with it.
It's funny what we think we've stumble by chance has actually been assigned by God to be encountered along ago. to us, it's "so coinsidental" and amazing, to him... I'm sure he has a grin every time one of his children come to conviction with matter of some kind. Glory to Abba, always.

Really good stuff man... thanks for sharing all that. I've been thinking more that the focus of the church family is a much bigger deal than its size or structure. Size and structure matter of course because they affect group dynamics, but if living as a real community/family (not just taking on that title) is forefront... I think it'll almost always be good stuff... and like you said before, we can't lose the missional side. One particular structure can't be THE Way because I'm pretty sure Jesus is The Way. A structure can't become our focus (though it's good to discuss). Lost souls are the goal -- they are the harvest... leaders just need to pursue God about how the Lord will have us construct the fruit baskets.

You can't go wrong with humility either like you said... ...real good words.

Dude,

I've totally been there with the bad mouthing the church thing, and it's not a good place to be. Is it fine to call attention to things that need change? Absolutely (your post has done that). The rub comes when, as you said, we get it in our heads that our way is the right way--the only way. As you know, I'm currently doing the simple/organic/house/micro/way-too-may-names church thing. Do I see advantages? Absolutely. Are there disadvantages? It depends on how you look at them. The point is that God has used many models to save many people. Are there times when we'll have to "contend for the faith"? Sure... but it has so little, if anything, to do with "models."

I'm hoping and praying for a day when guys who want to plant churches aren't chasing after the latest craze, fad, or technique... instead, they're chasing after God and what He's leading them to do in the place where He has called them... and those who are viewing from the outside, doing things differently, can cheer it on because it's a God thing.
